Sarah’s massage journey began in 2000, when working in a high-stress PR agency in London.
Seeking balance, she began to study massage after enjoying it for the first time during her travels to Asia and Australia.
As an active and fit person who had always enjoyed team and outdoor sport and activities, Sarah began to suffer from a few aches and pains in her 20s, partly due to hypermobility.
This is a common phenomenon which affects many people, making joints less stable than they should be. She found that good massage helped her to continue to enjoy physical pursuits without recourse to painkillers, surgery or any other drastic interventions – so much so that she decided she should share the difference it can make with others.
Since then, she has trained with leading practitioners and therapists to develop her practice, which spans a range of modalities and techniques, all aimed at improving mobility whilst reducing pain and stress levels.
She has successfully treated hundreds of clients, from professional footballers and rock stars to everyday folk you meet on the street. She now specialises in working with more complex issues, including chronic conditions such as ME, Long Covid and Fibromyalgia, as well as scars and TMJ disorder.
In 2023, Sarah was approved to teach Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork, building on her experience of delivering training for hot stones and pregnancy massage in Manchester. Her main focus continues to be on delivering massage but she is delighted to add this new strand of work to her activities.
She currently practices in four clinics across the North West region and the Fylde Coast, and travels to Scotland to work in Edinburgh – her birthplace – one day a month to provide high quality massage therapy and scar massage in Scotland. Please visit the locations page for more details.
